So the Guildhall School summer musical ‘Grand Hotel’ is now in tech rehearsals and students on the Theatre Technology pathway are well ensconced, ensuring that lighting and sound are running smoothly.
Lighting ops Martin Wade and Alice Strong (both year 2, see photo below) are busy programming the lighting cues…
While Sound Mixing is done by year three student Iain Harvey (see below, mixing on three sound desks at once).
The summer musical at Guildhall is the last big production in the academic year and pulls together students from across the school (Drama, Music and Technical Theatre). The dramatic and musical performances are ably supported by the technical theatre students who, as well as running the lighting, sound and stage technology, have also built and painted the stunning set, organised and run the stage management and supplied and managed all the costumes.
Grand Hotel opens on 8th July 2014.
