All three dramas this term are incorporating music and musicians into the creative drama and this gives some great opportunities for the Sound team to experiment with different techniques and procedures to realise the director’s vision.
The most recent has been the recording of a 5 piece Blues band for drama 1 – The Crimp plays. This took place in the Milton Court Studio Theatre (where the drama will finally be performed) and involved the learning of a variety of sound techniques including multi-mic-ing, multitrack recording and general session management. The final mixed track will be used for rehearsals and as a backup should there be any issues with the live musicians who will actually be playing during the production.
